Campbelltown began as a stop along the Horseshoe Pike, the primary
road joining Harrisburg and Philadelphia.
Today motorists take the Pennsylvania Turnpike when travelling between these
cities. Now Campbelltown finds itself as a stop along route 322 linking Hershey
to points east and south.
In a move that links Campbelltown to its historical roots, the local council
has applied the name Horseshoe Pike to route 322 as it passes through the village.
The recently renamed (and even more recently repaved) street serves as home to
specialty shops that have opened their doors, and Campbelltown bursts with new
life. |
